Authors Note: This is a different pairing for me so I hope everyone likes it.

Part 1

Lizs POV

Here I am once again waiting on him. You think that with this meeting being so important and all, his words not mine, that he would actually show up on time. But as annoyed as I am I don’t leave, as always I wait for him to show up.

I wonder if anyone in Roswell has any idea of his secret. I roll my eyes, probably not, if someone did then Lydecker and his soldiers would have shown up around here by now. Not only would they have found him but they would have probably led the Conclave to her. Because even though no one but the Familiars know it, when there is a possible location of a transgenic the Conclave is right behind Lydecker.

But the difference is that they don’t want to find them and take them to Manticore, they want to kill them. Just like if they found her they would kill her too, not for being a transgenic of course but for being a traitor to her own kind. For leaving and disobeying the Conclaves orders.

Before I can give the hell that is my life any more thought, I see his car pull up to mine in the desert. I watch as he gets out of his car and walk up to me.

“It’s about time” I say in annoyance as he reaches me. Which only causes his to raise his eyebrow. “So what was so important?” I ask him wanting to know why I had to sneak out in the middle of the night, which normally wouldn’t bother me. But Maria was staying over for a girl’s night, after having heard of what ‘supposedly’ happened between me and Kyle.

I shake my head to clear my thoughts and looked at him waiting for his answer. And after a moment he replies “We need get you out of Roswell”.

I look at him in shock, “What? Why?”

He looks at me with a serious expression, and it is then that I know that something is seriously wrong. “It seems that Maxie has found out where I am located. It doesn’t matter how, but Lydecker is following her trail and we need to get you out of here”

Even though I am secretly touched that he’s so concerned about me I don’t let it show, and instead say “Ok, I will pack my stuff and be out of here by morning”.

He nods and I can see he’s curious as to where I am going, which is why I’m not surprised when he asks “Do you have any idea where you’re going to go?”

I shake my head “No, I’m just going to see where the road takes me”. He nods and walks over and surprises me by pulling me in a hug.

As he pulls away he says “Be careful Liz, you’ve been like a daughter to me, if you need anything call me ok” I nod.

“What about Jeff and Nancy?” I ask him, see it wasn’t just me who got away from the familiars it was Jeff and Nancy too. Everyone in Roswell thinks my parents moved to Roswell to open their own restaurant, but the truth is we were just trying to get away from the Conclave. Trying to start new, see my parents didn’t want me to grow up with the Familiars like they had, they didn’t want that life for me. They wanted for me what they had always wanted themselves, a normal life; away from all the Familiars and the evil they represented.

Before I can think anymore of it, his voice pulls me from my thoughts. “What?” I ask not hearing what he had said.

“I’ll get them out of here, don’t worry about them. You know how much important your life is”. I nod knowing what he’s talking about.

“Ok. Bye Jim” I say and then turn around and make my way to my car. Happy to be leaving Roswell, even if the reason does suck.
