Summary: Instead of Liz and Tess going to Las Vegas they didn't. They stayed behind where Tess finds out a secret that no one could imagine about Liz.

(Roswell)

(West Roswell High)

(Liz sighed as she was in class, staring at the clock counting the minutes until the bell rang, so she could get out of here. She thought about what the others were doing right now, they were probably already in Vegas. Liz wanted to have fun but the last place she wanted to go for that was Las Vegas. Liz frowned as she thought of how Future Max told her that they had gotten married in Vegas. She couldn't help but wonder of how Zack and the rest of her siblings had reacted to her getting married so young, from what Future Max had said about their life together she hadn't ever told him about her X5 status. But why didn't I ever tell him, didn't I trust him enough? Before Liz could thin about it anymore the bell rang pulling her out of her thoughts. As everyone started filing out of the classroom Liz stood up, gathered her backpack and walked out. Liz made her way out of the building and to her car, as she opened the door she noticed Tess come out of the building, I guess she decided not to go, Liz thought suprised. She shook her head and climbed into her car driving off)

(Crashdown)

(Liz walked into the back and sat down on the couch in the break room. I reallly need to get out of here. She thought, she couldn't take being around here anymore. She hated how she had to see Max everyday and him and Tess getting closer and closer, it just hurt too much. Knowing what her future could have been and now she would never have that. Liz took out her cell phone and called the one person who could take her away from this)

Liz:(as the person answered) Hey it's Liz.

Voice: Is everything ok? (the voice asked concerned)

Liz: I need you to come get me. I want to leave Roswell.

Voice: When? (more than happy to go even though he would never show it, he missed Liz and not to mention he always hated the fact that she stayed in Roswell for so long)

Liz: Tonight. (she said deciding to leave as soon as possible)

Voice: I'll be there.

Liz: Thanks Zack.

Zack: Bye.

Liz: Bye. (smiles as she hangs up, anxious to see her big brother)

(As Liz stands up and makes her way upstairs to pack her stuff, she's unaware that someone had heard her entire conversation).

Part 2

(Roswell)

(Later that night)

(Lizs parents had closed the Crashdown so here she was in a booth waiting for Zack. Liz sighed as she looked at the clock, he was late).

Liz:(mutters) Figures when I finally want to leave Roswell he's late.

Voice: What was that sis? (Liz turned turns around to see Zack leaning against the wall amused)

Liz:(squeals) Zack (she jumps out of the booth and runs up to him pulling him into a hug)

Zack:(small smile, She was the only one he was the closest to other than Maxie and they both could always make him smile, he thought as he hugged her back) Hey Liz.

Liz:(smiles and pulls back) Hey what took you so long? (As she said this his smile faded and he became the same Zack that he was in Manticore, and she knew something had happend) What's going on Zack?

Voice: That's a good question. (They both turned around to see Tess standing in front of the door)

Part 3

Liz:(as she stares at Liz in shock) Tess what are you doing here? (Liz sees Zack tense up in the corner of her vision and shakes her head telling him no to do anything just yet)

Tess:(crosses her arms as she says) I came here earlier and overheard your conversation with I'm guessing Zack. (As Liz opens her mouth to respond she freezes by Tess's next statement) I know your different Liz.

Liz:(quickly recovers from her shock and narrows her eyes at Tess) What?

Tess:(sighs and drops her arms to her sides) Look Liz when I first got into town I could sense that you’re not completely human and when I tried to mindewarp you I couldn't.

Liz:(pissed off) You what?

Tess:(looked down) I'm sorry about that. (She looked up at Liz) I didn't want to but Nasedo said it was necessary and I believed him at the time. But now I know doing all of that was wrong.

Liz:(sarcastically) Really what made you think that?

Tess:(seriously, ignoring Lizs sarcasm) You.

Liz:(caught off guard, she hadn't expected Tess to say that) What?

Tess:(small smile as she thought of it) A couple of weeks ago when you came to me. I don't know why you did it but I know it must have been hard. To give up Max. I know you really loved him.

Zack:(scoffs) You have no idea what she gave up for all of you and it's funny to hear you apologize since she was cleaning up your mess. (He knew what she was talking about since Liz had told him all about Future Max).

Liz: Zack! (She said trying to stop him from telling her anymore. Whatever happened to transgenics being able to keep secrets).

Tess:(looked at them) What do you mean? (She looks Liz in the eyes) Liz? Please I need to know. (Even though she was confused she wanted to know what Zack had meant)

Liz:(as Tess pleaded her eyes softened and she sighed) Zack (she looks at him) go ahead and go back to the hotel and I'll call you later. (She sees his disapproving glance) Zack.

Zack:(after a moment he nodded) Ok. (He gives Tess a look saying she better not hurt his sister before he walked out).

Liz:(after Zack walked out she turns to Tess) Let's sit down. (Tess nods and follows Liz to one of the booths) Ok. (Once they sat down she takes a deep breath) Ok so about two months ago I got a visitor. (Liz paused and swallowed) He was Max from fourteen years in the future. (She saw Tess’s mouth started to open and Liz just quickly cut her off) I know this sounds crazy but just let me finish ok. (Tess closes her mouth and nods) So he said that in the future their enemies had come and taken over everything. In the future we had gotten back together and you had left, leaving the three of them weaker. He said that they weren’t strong enough without the four square, so they weren’t able to stop their enemies. Micheal had died right before he left and Isabel two weeks before. So he used the Granolith to travel to the past to stop that from happening, he told me I had to make him fall out of love with me and push you two together. That it was the only way to make sure you stayed. (She paused and then looked Tess straight in the eyes) I did what I had to Tess and now that you know I need you to tell me that you are going to stay.

Tess:(looked at Liz for a moment and then spoke, the words shocking Liz) I don’t want to be with Max, Liz.

Liz:(looked at Tess shocked, not believing the words that were coming out of her mouth. From the moment she met Tess, all the blonde wanted was to be with Max and fufill their destiny) What?

Tess:(looked down) Theres something you should know too. (she looked up and looked Liz in the eyes) Nasedo made a deal with Khivar, 40 years ago. The deal was to return to our home with Maxs child. And turn them all over to Khivar.

Liz:(looked at Tess stunned, it took her a minute to find her voice but when she did, she asked the question that kept repeating itself in her head) Why are you telling me this?

Tess:(took a deep breath) Because I want to live my own life Liz. You have to understand that the whole time I was growing up Nasedo kept feeding me all this Destiny crap. I believed that I would do whatever it took to do it, but when I came here things weren’t like I expected, I was always told that humans were a liability were weak. But he was wrong, because to be honest Liz. I don’t know if I ever could have done what you did. Give up the person you love and all the happiness you could have for him to be with someone else. You showed me that humans are anything but weak. And that being forced destiny down all of their throats weren’t going to make anybody happy, not even me. I know that Isabel and Micheal don’t even like me…(as Liz opened her mouth to argue she held up her hand, so Liz could let her finish) but it doesn’t matter because I found a brother and someone who is more of a father to me than Nasedo ever was. (Liz nodded understandingly knowing she meant Kyle and Valenti) I will stay but I’m not going to be with Max, he loves you Liz. You deserve to be happy-(she was surprised when Liz burst out laughing)

Liz:(at Tess surprised expression she stopped laughing and explained) I’m sorry it’s just that I don’t want to be with Max. Tess after what happened I could never be with Max. The way he treated me after he saw me and Kyle. He never thought once that something else might be going on. He just acted like he hated me, it just made me see that maybe me and him aren’t meant to be. So even if you stay and don’t want to be with Max, I don’t want to be with him either. (Once she finished Liz and Tess looked at each other and couldn’t help but laugh that now that they both had a chance to be with Max, neither one of them wanted to)

Tess:(once she stopped laughing) But Liz I would like it if we could start to be friends.

Liz:(smiled) I would like that too. (then she paused) I guess for that to happen I would have to tell you exactly who Zack is. (At Tess’s nod Liz began to explain) Ok so about….(Liz then proceeded to tell Liz about Manticore, what she was, her sibling, and how they had escaped). So yea you were right about me being different.

Tess:(shocked) Wow. (she said and then pulled her out of her shock as she thought of something) How has no one been able to see your barcode?

Liz: Before I just used to cover my neck with my hair or makeup but now I can kind of wave it away. (she said biting her lip)

Tess:(narrowed her eyes) What do you mean wave it away? (they her eyes widen) You have powers.

Liz:(nodded) Yea it looks like Ava was right about me being changed.

Tess:(nodded remembering how the other had mentioned what her dupe had said) What can you do?

Liz:(waves her hand over the table changing it colors and then waves her hand back over it again changing it back) I can Manipulate Molecular Structure, Heal, Blasts, Maxs shield, I can Dreamwalk, Mindewarp, and Astral Project. (she had and then closed her eyes to demonstrate, and Tess watched shocked as another Liz appeared right next to her and then she disappeared. Liz opened her eyes and looked at Tess shocked expression)

Tess:(shocked) So you can do everything we can plus your own unique power. (Liz nods) How is that possible?

Liz:(shook her head) I don’t know.

Tess: How long have you had them? You seem to have control of them.

Liz:(shrugged) Since Ava left.

Tess:(surprised) Why didn’t you tell anyone?

Liz:(sighed) After what happened I didn’t want to tell Max because he would try to connect with me and would see what happen. Micheal would just tell Max, so would Isabel. Maria would just freak, So would Kyle. But Alex knows.

Tess:(curiously) How did he take it?

Liz:(smiled as she remembered Alexs reaction to her powers) He almost fainted. (she said causing Tess to laugh).

Tess:(after a moment) So Zack is kind of cute. (Liz looked at her surprised and then laughed) So your staying right.

Liz:(nodded) Yea.

Tess:(smiled) How is Zack gonna take it?

Liz:(shook her head and stood up) He’s not going to like it but I’m going to call him to come back over. (Tess nodded as Liz turned and walked to the back to call her Zack).

Tess:(only had to wait a minute when Liz came to the front and sat back down) So…

Liz:(sighed) He was upset but he understood. He’s coming because he needs to talk to me.

Tess:(curiously) What about?

Liz:(shook her head, she had no idea but whatever it was she knew it wouldn’t be good) I don’t know.

Tess:(frowned at Lizs expression) You think somethings wrong?

Liz:(nodded) Yea- (she was cut off as Zack walked in and Liz looked at him for a moment and then narrowed her eyes) You didn’t go to your motel did you?

Zack:(shrugged) I wanted to stay and keep and eye on you to make sure everything was ok. (she glared at Tess causing her too look down)

Liz:(glared at him) Zack cut it out. Now what did you have to tell me.

Zack:(looked away from Tess and then to Liz) Manticore is gone. (Liz looked at him in shock)

Liz:(jaw dropped) What? How?

Zack: A couple of months ago Tinga was recaptured, and me and Max went after her but we were too late. Max was the one who found her but didn’t get out in time and was captured by Lydecker so I called Syl and Krit to help me get her back but she had managed to get away and found us along with Lydecker. She had a plan to take down Manticore. She was shot and she was dying so I…(he looked down and Liz knew whatever he was going to say, she wasn’t going to like it because it wasn’t like Zack to get emotional) I killed myself to save her, but Manticore gave me artificial organs to keep me alive, after Max got better she escaped and took down Manticore. I escaped too but Manticore reindocrated me, so that I would kill Logan he’s Eyes Only and he’s with Max but Max stopped me by electrocuting me. I couldn’t remember anything so she and Logan gave me to a family to have a chance at a normal life. But I remembered everything soon after and then came here.

Liz:(looked at him and clenched her fist) So she just chose him over her own brother. (she then stood up) and why the hell didn’t you call me. I could’ve helped.

Zack:(stood up and ordered) Stand down soldier. I did what I had to, we didn’t have enough time to wait for you. Syl and Krit were the closest.

Liz:(glared at him) You can’t order me around. We’re not in Manticore anymore Zack. You should have called me.

Zack:(glared back at her) Why so you could use your alien powers and took a chance at Manticore finding out and cutting you open. (Liz looked at him shocked) Yes I know I’ve been keeping an eyes on you and the others. You know as well as I do what Manticore would’ve done if they saw you use your powers.

Liz:(sighed and her eyes softened) I know.

Zack:(softened as he saw her sad expression) Liz don’t blame Max, I know how you feel I was upset at first too. But she did what she thought was right. As much as I hate the guy Maxie loves him.

Liz:(nods) Ok. (she hugged him) I’m just glad your ok.

Zack:(hugged her back) Me too.
